Product Description

Be Extremely Classy
The 1432 Early Sidesword, was accurately studied to be the enhanced version of our XIX Early Sidesword. If you’re looking for a collector’s version of this sporty blunt sword, this is the right choice. The swift dynamics, the pleasing handling and the exquisite proportions are only some of the strong points of this sword. With its parallel profile taper, the fullered hexagonal section and those delicate, spatulated quillons with a rounded finger ring, the 1432 Early Sidesword is a very fine example of the sidesword’s progenitor in the white arms evolution line, in the first half of 15th century. Against common beliefs, the finger rings already appeared in the mid 14th century, and they are found on two handed swords and baselard swords too. The XIX Early Sidesword is inspired by an Arsenal of Alexandria’s sword preserved in the Royal Armouries (Leeds), accurately crafted after the original and adjusted specifically for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).
