The Pointy End
“From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers”
Henry V, W.Shakespeare, 1598-99
Azincourt is an unusual, late-medieval sword, inspired by the Wallace collection’s INV. A461. When we first approached this unique blade, it was love at first sight, so we suggested it to a customer who completely understood its uniqueness. The squared pommel, the spiky crossguard, and the narrow, 8mm thick blade make it feel lively in the hand and present the binding. Azincourt sword was named after the famous battle of 1415, that took place in France between England and France during the Hundred Years War. The unexpected English victory against the numerically superior French Army was so legendary that even Shakespeare wrote about it, dedicating a history play to Henry V.
* This sword is fully handmade without templates, so every Azincourt will be different from the previous one, as our craftsmanship and methods evolve and prevent machine-made effects. Tiny imperfections, differences and asymmetries give your sword a completely unique personality.
