The Dragon Slayer
” The Fairy Queen has sent you to do brave deeds in this world. That High City that you see is in another world. Before you climb the path to it and hang your shield on its wall, go down into the valley and fight the dragon that you were sent to fight.”
― Margaret Hodges, Saint George and the Dragon
The Conradus is a unique arming sword that is modeled after the longsword used by Grand Master Konrad von Theuringen of the Teutonic Order. The original sword, which is believed to have been owned by him, dates back to 1240 and is currently held at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. The type XII blade, embodying a distinctive design, is topped with an elegant octagonal pommel, while the handle, ensconced in the finest goatskin leather, provides a smooth and comfortable grip that beckons to be wielded.
The sword features a finely hand-decorated leather chape with a regal depiction of St. George on one side, and his symbol, the St. Georges’s cross, on the other, both detailed in gold.
A fitting tribute to the patron saint of knights which serves as a reminder of the timeless values of bravery, honor, and righteousness that are the hallmarks of a noble warrior.
* This sword is fully handmade without templates, so every Conradus will be different from the previous one, as our craftsmanship and methods evolve and prevent machine-made effects. Tiny imperfections, differences and asymmetries give your sword a completely unique personality.
