Product Description

The Skillful Way

The Diestro sidesword perfectly introduces the fencer to the Destreza system. This style, originated in the Iberian regions, was in fashion from the end of 15th century, even though the first surviving treatise, “Philosophia de las Armas”, was written by Jerónimo Sánchez de Carranza in 1582. The name was brilliantly suggested by M° David Rawlings from the London Longsword Academy.

Thanks to a good balance between cut and thrust, the Diestro is specifically designed for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) and is an excellent pairing with our buckler, targa, parrying dagger or a cape.
