A Noble Defence
The Sport Rondel Dagger, with its round rondels and stiff blade, is the ideal dagger to practise the 14th and 15th century techniques, especially with armour or also in “camisa” (earnest). The blade is stiff to allow those techniques to work. Inspired by several original rondel daggers, typical of the knightly art of defence from the late Middle Ages. The Italian Master at Arms Fiore dei Liberi in his famous combat treatise “Flos Duellatorum” dated 1409-1410, includes a wide chapter about the use of this weapon. This dagger is a sport version of the late medieval historical ones, simplified and designed specifically for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).
