Product Description

A Blissful Song

“Blest is the man ordain’d our voice to hear,
The song instructs the soul, and charms the ear.
Approach! Thy soul shall into raptures rise!
Approach! and learn new wisdom from the wise!

Homer, The Odyssey, 8th century BC

Syren is a prime example of a German military sword, inspired by an original artifact at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, inv. IX.1288. It features a gracefully curved shell that offers hand protection, along with a thumb ring to better control the already nimble blade. The hilt is made of heat-treated steel, featuring a flattened oval pommel and curved quillons.
Hand-filed grooves adorn the shell and pommel, while the spiral pattern on the grip ensures both ergonomy and comfort. The blade, with narrow double fullers, transitions from a single to double-edged with a rounded diamond-sectioned tip. Moreover, the marine tail theme is meticulously maintained throughout the entire baldric and scabbard, from the silver-plated shell strap ends to the handmade leather tooling.

* This sword is fully handmade without templates, so every Azincourt will be different from the previous one, as our craftsmanship and methods evolve and prevent machine-made effects. Tiny imperfections, differences and asymmetries give your sword a completely unique personality.
