Product Description
The Iberian Mercenary
Vencedor montante is based on a private collection’s specimen and on the Renaissance two handed war swords used from the beginning of the 16th century. The reference treatises, including Domingo Luis Godinho’s Arte de Esgrima and Luis Pacheco de Narváez’s Nueva Ciencia are of Iberian origin. These masters, from the Verdadera Destreza School, explain its use in the naval field, but also in the urban environment, in threat situations. The majesty of this sword made it legendary in the hands of condottieri and mercenaries. Thanks to M° Ton Puey for his precious advice and research.
