Product Description

Grab your sword… Literally!

Zogho Stretto is named after the term the Italian Master at Arms Fiore dei Liberi uses in his treatise to describe the close play. This is for the use this sword is intended to: the central ricasso invites the armoured fighter to grab the sword, using it as a lance and closing the distance to pierce the more vulnerable parts in the opponent’s armour. In “Flos Duellatorum” treatise (1409-1410) there is a full section about how to use this sword and also Filippo Vadi in his “De Arte Gladiatoria Dimicandi” (1482-87) shows several technique with a slightly longer version. The design was taken from the first of the two “In Armis” swords shown on the Getty Manuscript, compared to survived later findings.

* This sword is fully handmade without templates, so every Zogho Stretto will be different from the previous one, as our craftsmanship and methods evolve and prevent machine-made effects. Tiny imperfections, differences and asymmetries give your sword a completely unique personality.
